Bondy's notes from Abbey

Any defeat is tough to accept, even more so when the players display a strong, positive performance like the one on Sunday. It perhaps is becoming too much of a habit: playing the better football but not winning as many games as we should have so far this season.

We have extremely talented athletes who are brilliant footballers. Take it from me, I see how hard the girls work in training: they are super-determined to improve. We may have lost the game but I indeed think it was the best defensive performance we have provided all season. I came to that conclusion because I saw a lot of Friday's practice in Sunday's game. We put a lot of emphasis focus, discussion and practice on phases of play, on pressing, dropping off and passing players on to each other.

It is extremely delightful knowing that the girls really are taking on board and developing. When you see things that we as a team have worked on in training be processed in a game it is very delighting.

What I love about this group of people they will not gave up and as players will keep striving to become the best they can be at football.
